About:
He's a latinx writer living in Oakland, CA. His debut novel,
Big Familia, was a FINALIST for the PEN/Hemingway Debut Novel 2020 Award, a FINALIST for a LAMBDA 2020 award for Bisexual Fiction and a FINALIST for the Foreword Review Indies Award. He teaches at Berkeley City College, the Antioch MFA program and USF. He has stuff on the internet but loves penpals: PO Box 3555, Berkeley CA 94703. He promises to write back.

  • He edited the popular Rad Dad and Rad Families anthologies.
  • He wrote the kids book Collaboration/Colaboración. 
  • He’s the recipient of the prestigious SF Literary Arts Foundation’s 2016 Award, a 2020-22 Artist Affiliate at the Headlands Center for the Arts, and the 2023 Lucas Artists Residency.
